Whether you consider yourself a
Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or
Independent, the San Antonio Board of
REALTORS® encourages all members to
vote in the upcoming General Election.
Consider early voting. Early voting
begins in just a few short days; on October
20. When you vote early, you can vote at
any early voting location in your county.
Many members say that they would prefer
to wait until election day to vote. That’s
great, if you truly follow through and do
cast your vote. So often we get busy and
voting does not remain a priority of the
day. On election day, you must vote in
your designated polling precinct location
which is often not as convenient as voting
in any of the early voting locations which
may be closer to your office or stopping to
vote on your way home.
Important dates to remember:
October 20 - First day of early voting
October 31 - Last day of early voting

Want to know which candidates in
the November 4 general election support
private-property rights, free enterprise and
other issues important to REALTORS®
and property owners? Go to
www.sabor.com for a list of endorsed candidates.
Additionally, TAR has provided a
Voter’s Guide which you will find in
SABOR’s voter site as well.
Please be sure to vote all the way
down the ballot. Kevin Wolff is running
for Bexar County Commissioner ~
Precinct 3. Concerns have been expressed
that sometimes voters are more focused on
casting votes for key legislators at the top
of the ballot and do not always make it to
the end. Please be sure to cast your vote
for this down-ballot candidate in this all
important County Commissioner Precinct
3 race.
State Representative Frank Corte,
Jr. is opposed in this re-election bid in
District 122. This is a legislator who
serves his constituents while legislating in
October 15, 2008 REAL ESTATE NEWSLINE 7
Austin and also served tours of duty
defending this country as a Colonel
reservist in Iraq. Please remember to support
him once again.
Congressman Ciro Rodriguez is our
only local co-sponsor to HR 111 ~
Keeping Banks Out of Real Estate. He
supports real estate issues, supports private
property rights and has a 100% voting
record with NAR. Please be sure to support
him with your vote as well on election
day.
If you would be interested working
to benefit any of these legislators with
your time, please go to www.sabor.com
for additional information on each candidate
or contact my office. Yard signs are
available for pick-up at SABOR as well.
Call before you come as supplies are limited.
From the state perspective, twentyfour
of the races in the November 4 election
have been identified as opportunity
races. An opportunity race represents a
higher level of candidate support by the
state and local associations than a typical
endorsement.
Please vote. Your vote is important.
Whether or not you support all candidates
proposed through SABOR, TAR and
NAR, it is imperative that your voice be
heard. Now is your opportunity to let your
legislators hear your concern for their job
performance by voting them out or your
support by keeping them in place.
Please go vote!
