On December 3, 2008 almost 200
people attended the WCR Installation of
2009 Officers at The Club at Sonterra.
The event captured the spirit of the season
with the room being beautifully decorated
by the family and team of incoming president
Missy Stagers and with the help of
First Impressions Staging Company. The
installation luncheon followed tradition
and recognized the accomplishments of
2008 and then welcomed the incoming
leadership.
For the second year a tribute video
was played to honor the successes of the
organization and highlight the current
president. Michelle Lebherz spent countless
hours preparing the Year in Review
video, and I am very appreciative for her
hard work. The video featured tons of
members at several of the chapter events
from 2008. It also poked fun at ME, with
testimonials from the WCR National
President, several Precious Past
Presidents, and other members associating
the word BOSSY with Jackie Galvan.

2008 Year in Review
Oh my goodness was I surprised. I
laughed on the inside and then lead a
farewell speech playing right along with
the theme and showed them who the boss
was. Actually I attributed the importance
of ensuring that no matter what task we
take on it is proper to make sure we have
the tools we need to be successful. My
encouragement accessorized by enthusiasm
and energy was simply disguised by
heavy direction.
The farewell speech I shared was
sincere. The journey that Women’s
Council of REALTORS has taken me on is
more than I could ever imagine. Through
this organization I transitioned from an
affiliate to a REALTOR, I have traveled
across the country and listened to speakers
from around the world. I have made
friends for life and received referrals as
well. Before this organization I probably
would not have been able to comfortably
deliver an impromptu speech with such
ease. Tasks such as leading a committee
meeting, making an agenda or writing an
article like this has transcended to experi-

ence that has enhanced my business.
People always ask why I want to
belong to WCR. I promise you that if you
commit to the council it will be committed
to you. You will always walk away from a
meeting with something of value even if it
is just a smile. Did you know that the
Women’s Council of REALTORS was
started by a MAN? Ask me and I will tell
you that story or go to wcr.org and read
about our history. We have to look to our
history to build our future.
Last December I charged the organization
to get involved proclaiming WCR
Needs Your Energy and sharing a Red
Bull. The amount of participation for our
members this year is indeed more than
ever. Without the dedication and support
of all of you none of this could happen and
I offer you all a big thanks. Like Missy
says Together Everyone Achieves More.

Women’s Council of REALTORS
San Antonio chapter meets the first
Wednesday of each month at The Club at
Sonterra. In January our first program
will feature a speaker from the Dave
Ramsey series. Andrea Gimblet our 2009
programs chair has already scheduled
exciting and educational programs for
next year so stay tuned.
Membership is only $131 annually,
and you can attend two meetings as a
