not. The sand storms that you hear about
are very real and very red and can last for
hours,each hour getting progressively darker
as the sunlight is shut out. The sand gets
into everything. The sandbags are for more
protection from mortars but can’t keep out
that sand.
Major Copernicus Guerra’s job was to inspect
‘fuel bladders’, at 15 different bases, twice in 6
months. That meant a great deal of dangerous
travel. 2 million gallons of fuel is brought in by
truck at 8,000 gal per truck and used per day.
One little rip and it’s all over. Truck drivers have
very dangerous jobs.
