President, Women’s Council of REALTORS
My Goodness It’s May
Have you picked up your copy of
the Women’s Council of REALTORS
2008 calendar yet? Two very special
ladies represent WCR this month,
Debbie Acosta of RE/MAX Preferred,
our immediate past president, and
Jenny Bingham of RE/MAX Northeast,
recently recognized as the RE/MAX of
Texas Broker of the Year. Well known
in the San Antonio real estate industry,
we are proud and privileged to have
this dynamite mother-daughter duo
represent the month of May, in which
we celebrate Mother’s day. We would
also like to wish Jenny a very happy
birthday this month, just one more reason
we’re glad it’s May. Lastly, be
sure to attend our September meeting
when we present our fall fashion show
“Families in Real Estate,” and catch
this mother-daughter team in action.
Also featured in our fall fashion
show is the mother-daughter dynamic
duo of Rita Santamaria and Kimberly
Dydalewicz of Champions School of
Real Estate, this year’s diamond strate-
gic partner. Rita, aka Mrs. September,
is the owner of Champions, with 7
campuses across the state as well as
online courses. Rita, as a single mother,
opened the school in 1983, and this
year, Champions celebrates its 25th
anniversary. They are very proud to be
nationally recognized as a Pinnacle
award winner for the third straight
year. Rita’s daughter Kimberly is the
manager of the San Antonio campus
and is currently our WCR programs
committee chairwoman. The combination
of Kimberly’s hard work in program
planning and Champions School
of Real Estate’s generous sponsorship
has brought us an amazing national
speaker, Jan Hargrove. All who attended
the May Business Resource Meeting
enjoyed Jan’s program, Strictly
Business Body Language.
Last year at SABOR’s Realtor
Rally speaker Terry Watson discussed
being a sponge and absorbing all you
can from those around you that are
highly successful. Can you imagine

what it would be like to pick the brain
of Rita? Rita continually learns all
types of information to make her a better
business owner, a stronger instructor
and a leader in the community. She
is certainly somebody one could learn
from. What would you pay to sit down
and just perhaps have dinner with her?
Well that’s the question on the
table. And this summer you’ll get the
chance to weigh in, as we honor the
ladies from the 2008 calendar, on July
17, 2008 at Hot Havana Nights. Be
prepared because all of these industry
icons will be auctioned off in either a
silent or LIVE auction format. Would
you like to go fishing with Debbie and
Rick Acosta, or golfing with Cathy and
Wayne Bell? These are just a few of
the items you can come prepared to bid
on. Mark your calendar, and join us
for an evening full of fun. The evening
starts with a Mojito Mingle, then a
Cuban buffet, a cigar on the balcony,
the live auction and then dancing the
night away. Come prepared to DANCE
with the WCRS, with the help of some
Fred Astaire dancers of course.
Other May events include a
Shimmer and Chardonnay wine tasting
at Wine Styles to raise extra money as
we March for Babies in the March of
Dimes walk on May 17th. Everybody
is welcome to join our team. Visit
www.wcrsanantonio.com for more
information. Happy Mother’s Day!
