husband and partner) and I got
involved in San Antonio real
estate back in the early 1980’s.
I knew very few people here
and Don encouraged me to get
out and network. With that
push, I began working with
Susie Lowe, who taught me
sometimes it is not just real
estate that networks in this
business. Ironically, it was a
jewelry show at a 1986 WCR
(Women’s Council of
Realtors) meeting that really
got me reaching out and meeting
people in our industry,”
shares Barbara. “Susie was a
wonderful influence to me.
Both she and Don reminded me that sitting
in one room does not build business.
Our industry is so much grander
than just our personal niche. People
have many talents and getting involved
at SABOR (San Antonio Board of
REALTORS) and other organizations is
