By Sue Trautner
CRS 2009 President
Wow! 2009 is zipping right along!
My mom always used to say, "Time flies
when you're having fun!" Alamo CRS
Chapter is having a great year so far, and
that is definitely FUN! I hope you are part
of that fun, because it's our members who
are moving the chapter forward and reaping
the benefits!
As I write this, I have just finished
attending the mid-year meetings for CRS
in Washington, DC. I am pleased and
proud to tell you that Alamo CRS is bucking
the national trends! Many CRS chapters
and boards around the country are
dealing with the challenges of a decline in
membership. Alamo CRS Chapter's membership
is growing!! We have over 250
chapter members! One big topic of discussion
in a couple of forums I attended was
the challenge of a drop in enrollment in
CRS classes around the country. Alamo
CRS Chapter has sponsored 3 CRS 2-day
core classes so far this year, and our enrollment
has been up over last year! CRS 200
in February had the highest enrollment for
a CRS class in the last 2.5 years! Our 2
luncheons so far have been well attended
and the programs have been exciting and
well received! A big thank you to all our
CRS Update
Chapter members who are supporting
Alamo CRS, as well as class students, our
Affilate members (whose numbers have
also increased this year!), and special
thanks to our Friends of CRS and
RE/MAX of Texas, our Platinum sponsor
for 2009! Your support and contributions
mean everything and are helping Alamo
CRS to grow!
Many of you attended our April luncheon
and got to hear from the 4 primary
mayoral candidates. I hope their remarks
and ideas helped you decide where to cast
your vote. Now San Antonio has a new
mayor and it will be interesting to see if he
follows through on all the ideas he shared
with the Alamo CRS chapter! Be sure to
make plans to attend our next luncheon on
June 16! Our program will be an update
and information on the new improvements
and expansion of the Riverwalk! There's
lot of new development along the northern
part of the Riverwalk, and more coming,
so be sure to join us and find out all about
it! It's the thing that visitors to our city
want to see and what they remember about
San Antonio--besides the Alamo, of
course!
Consider taking a long weekend to
visit Corpus Christi! Join us for CRS 210
in the sparkling city by the sea on June 4-
5, then take the rest of the weekend to
enjoy the beach, go fishing, visit the State
Aquarium, or just relax before the summer
really kicks into gear! CRS 210 is the
referral course where you learn how to
really build a referral business with your
friends, clients, and raving fans! Ed
Hatch, who wrote the course, is coming
from Maryland to be with us--check our
website, www.alamocrs.com for registration
information!
We enjoyed our CRS 204 class in
New Braunfels this past April! And after
the June class in Corpus, we'll be back at
SABOR in October for CRS 206--
