General Membership Breakfast scheduled for August 6th, 2008

August 6th is the date to remember
for the SABOR General Membership
Breakfast at the Norris Conference
Center. The nominating committee will
present its recommendation of six individuals
for service on the SABOR Board
of Directors. Breakfast will be served at
8a.m. and the program will commence at
8:45a.m. The cost will be $6.00 with an
RSVP and $10 without an RSVP.
In addition to announcing nominations,
amendments to the bylaws will be
presented by the Bylaws Committee.
Two parts of the bylaws in particular were
amended including SECTION 5. NOMI-
NATIONS AND ELECTION OF DIREC-
TORS and SECTION 6.NOMINATIONS
AND ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
Specifically, the changes to
Section 5 of the bylaws state:
Nominations shall be limited to
Members in good standing who have
been Members of the Board for at least
one year at the time of commencement of
their proposed terms of office, and made

as follows: A Nominating Committee
(consisting of the three most recent past
Chairman of the Board (plus one alternate)
once removed capable of serving
and seven REALTOR® Members (plus
two alternates) (no more than one person
from same company in group of seven)
will make the nomination. The latter
seven shall not be on the Board of
Directors, but selected by the current
Chairman of the Board and approved by
the Board of Directors.
Formerly, the committee only
had four members of the
Board and did not have
alternates.
To this list of nominees may be
added nominations by petition. The
REALTOR® must have filed for a position
and been interviewed during the normal
candidate interview process in order
to be considered a petition candidate. If
the candidate was considered but not
selected by the Nominating Committee,
petition candidate must file a petition
with 5% of the REALTOR® membership
(at time of filing) signing said petition.

Formerly, the petition candidate
had to file a petition
with representation from 10%
of the REALTOR® membership.
Section 6 of the bylaws changes
states:
Candidates for the various offices
of the Board shall be nominated by a
Committee comprised of the three most
recent past Chairmen once removed, willing
and able to serve (plus one alternate).
In addition to the three most recent past
Chairmen, the Chairman of the Board
shall select two members from the current
Board of Directors and one alternate who
have served at least two years on the
Directorate to serve on the Committee.
The Committee shall be ratified by the
Board of Directors.
Formerly, the nominating
committee did not have any
alternates.
