SABOR
Thrive and Survive in Your Real Estate
Business with the SABOR Real Estate School
Do you want to be a more successful
professional and make more money?
Do you want to flourish in your real estate
business? Get the education you need to
succeed in real estate at the San Antonio
Board of REALTORS® Real Estate
School. We offer designation courses
throughout the year so you can receive all
the tools to enable you to be a more successful
professional.
Two successful designation courses
necessary for a professional real estate
agent are the Graduate REALTOR®
Institute (GRI) and the Accredited Buyer
Representative (ABR).
The SABOR Real Estate School is
the ONLY school that offers the GRI designation
in San Antonio. This designation
is one of the most widely recognized designations
available to real estate professionals
nationwide. In the course, one
will learn such topics as: sales and marketing,
finance trends, risk reduction, new
technology, investments, contracts, pricing
property, taxation, property manage-

ment, professional standards, fair housing/diversity,
and legal and regulatory
updates. Those who successfully complete
all three GRI courses have the
opportunity and privilege of joining the
prestigious group of the REALTOR®
Institute graduates. Texas REALTORS®
who hold this designation earn 30% more
annually than non-designees, based on a
survey by the Texas Association of
REALTORS®.
The ABR Designation is the benchmark
of excellence in buyer representation.
This coveted designation is awarded
to real estate practitioners who meet the
specified educational and practical experience
criteria by the Real Estate Buyer’s
Agent Council (REBAC) of NAR. With
over 40,000 members, REBAC is the
largest association of real estate professionals
focusing on all aspects of buyer
representation. Over 30,000 ABR®
designees have completed the REBAC
course, passed the test, and provided documentation
of buyer agency experience.

There are several requirements that
must be met to attain and use the ABR
designation. One must successfully complete
the two-day ABR® Designation
Course, which includes an 80% passing
grade on the exam. Also, a REALTOR®
must complete one of the ABR® elective
courses with an 80% passing grade. And,
thirdly, one must present documentation
verifying five completed
transactions in which
he/she acted solely as a
buyer representative (no
dual agency). Any transaction
closed within three
years of the course is eligible
for credit. Last but not
least, a REALTOR® must
make sure that his/her
membership is in good
standing in the Real Estate
Buyer’s Agent Council
(REBAC) and NAR. As
an added incentive, a
REALTOR’S® first-year
membership in REBAC is
free with the ABR®
Designation Course.
Get a head start
toward your ABR
Designation by taking the
upcoming Foreclosure:
Prevention and
Opportunities for Buyer-
Clients course. Scheduled
for Tuesday, July 22, 2008, this course
will not only satisfy eight hours of MCE
renewal hours, but it is also an approved
ABR® Designation elective course.
Successfully completing this course with
a minimum 80% passing grade will get
you on the fast track to receive your
ABR® Designation.
