Women's Council of REALTORS is hot
hot hot. Last month our event Hot
Havana Nights was a huge success, raising
over 50% of it's goal, reaching over
$12,000. All those who attended
enjoyed the percussion sounds and dance
of Kazamba as we kicked off our night
during our Mojito Mingle. The night
never had a dull moment, we watched
Fred Astaire dancers that looked like they
came straight out of the musical
"Chicago," and then David Jones took
our Live Auction to heights we only
dreamed of. All I can say is WOW
WOW WOW!!!
This night could not have been
possible without the help of so many.
We had a dozen committee members, and
just as much advertisers. At our August
business resource meeting the committee
members were thanked personally in
front of our membership. I am SO sorry
I forgot to mention one lady. So please
if any of you know Lisa Cano of Keller
Williams Heritage congratulate her for

her part in making this event a success.
Not only did the August program
thank our Havana Nights team, but we
unveiled our next community outreach
project, had our elections for our 2009
officers, heard about our membership
contest and listened to two speakers. John
Dickson spoke briefly about the importance,
threats and plans for the Camp
Bullis area, and then our State
Comptroller Susan Combs spoke. She
was good spirited and uplifting as she
described how strong our Texas Economy
is, and how many jobs our state has captured
and created.
Community Outreach is one of our
strongest committees this year. Our next
community outreach project is "A
Tribute to Our Troops" and proceeds
raised will support the Fisher House, and
the Soldier Support and Assistance
Center. We are going to have a night of
networking, lite refreshments, and dancing
to the music of Ruben V at Rolling
Oaks Golf Club. The event will take
place on September 12 at 6pm, with
