I encourage you all to go to these

call list for ones you love with vital information
they may need. Put together that
emergency box and most importantly talk
about what you do if there is a fire in your
home.
Are You Emergency
Ready ?
Have you ever thought about what
you will do the next time there is a disaster?
What is a disaster? All good questions
and actually very important ones that may
save your life. Linda Martinez who manages
the disaster preparedness for Bexar
County spoke to us about those exact questions.
Disasters are more than just a hurricane
that seems to be prevalent in most
minds; it can be a fire(s), tornado, flood,
earthquake, mudslide, gas explosion and
more. Do you know how to react or where
to get help? It is sad that the answer for

thought about how you would get out of
your own home or walked your kids
through an exit plan if it caught on fire?

hurricane that hit our coast started a rumor
of how San Antonio was going to be hit
and we would all lose power for ten days.
I remember stopping by Northern equipment
to pick up a part for my husband’s
tractor and there were people in line to get
generators and were fighting over them
because they were sold out. It was ridiculous.
Wouldn't it be great if you already
had your plan in place and used some common
sense so that if the disaster hit, you
could be of help or volunteer vs. being one
of the many standing in line fighting over a
