“Since entering the San Antonio market,
we have worked closely with the San
Antonio Realtor community to develop a
great partnership,” according to Keith Fahey,
Centex Director of Marketing. “The success
of this partnership is evident with over 50%
of our homes being sold with Realtors.” In
order to continue to grow and enhance that
partnership, Centex remains focused in several
areas.
The first is communicating accurate
information. Centex does this by sending out
email updates and newsletters to the over
3,000 Realtors in their database. Their emails
have information about events and promotions,
while their newsletter shares information
on available inventory, buyer incentives,
new community openings and more. A

Centex also conducts an annual survey
of the Realtor community. The most
recent survey, in which over 300 Realtors
participated, told Centex that accurate MLS
information was a must. With that in mind,
the San Antonio division created an automated
system to manage their inventory that is in
the MLS system. This system insures the listings
are updated every 24 to 48 hours, with
changes in status, prices or incentives.
The second area of focus is customer
satisfaction. The Centex philosophy is that if
the customer is happy, then their Realtor will
be happy. In order to enhance customer satisfaction,
Centex implemented a Two-Year
Fit & Finish Warranty program, which offers
coverage that is twice the industry standard.

Sales Counselors and Field Managers also
conduct weekly calls to customers with
updates on the progress of their home. The
program is working, as Centex was ranked in
2006 and 2007 as “Highest in Customer
Satisfaction with New Home Builders in San
Antonio,” by J.D. Power and Associates.
A third area of focus is providing
quality homes in prime locations, at affordable
prices. Centex builds in the most active
price ranges and has five series of homes that
range from the $110’s-$260’s. “Prime locations
are a must,” according to Leslie
Mullins, Centex Operational Marketing
Manager. “Our land acquisition department
has done an excellent job in finding our division
great locations. We’ve had such positive
response to our community locations that we
have had to hold lottery drawings for homesites
over the past few years,” adds Mullins.
Centex has also recently made the
leap to further differentiate themselves with
the launch of their new Centex Energy
Advantage™ program. Every new to-bebuilt
Centex home started November 1st or
later will now come with up to nine energyefficient
features that help control energy
costs. Centex is the first builder to offer this
